Parka Chic

28 Dec

Everybody has an old, go-to, heavy winter jacket.  You know the one I’m talking about. Its been sitting in your closet for years and should have been donated to a local coat drive – like 3 years ago. It’s time now!

You should own something truly unique & chic.  Look for flattering cuts, interesting zippers, fun fur, cool leather details, built in features, quality construction, versatility, and most important of all, warmth. Unique and chic also means staying away from basic coats with flashy logos (think, North Face, Columbia, Eddie Bauer, Mountain Gear, or LL Bean). By doing so, you’ll make one of your best winter wardrobe decisions, ever.

While vacationing in Vancouver, British Colombia, I stumbled upon this amazing Mackage jacket.  It is the chicest heavy jacket that I have ever laid eyes on.  The length, cut, angled multi-way zipper, leather details, fur, built in vest, and THAT hood – it was love at first sight! Warm & comfy, while still flattering & fashionable. Jackpot.

Now is the perfect time to shop for your best winter jacket, ever!  Treat yourself to a new heavy winter jacket, while all of the great styles are out.  IMO Mackage has some of the highest quality, best looking pieces.  If you’re not ready to make the splurge, check out my other budget-friendly picks below too!

Channeling Paradise

14 Jul

Bring your vacation home with you.

I just got back from a much needed vacay to the fabulous Hermitage Bay, in Antigua.  It was surreal (but, I’ll get to that in another post)!!  Although I’m back home, I’m still channeling the tropical vibe.  That means it is time to throw in some island-style inspiration to the wardrobe.

On the way to Antigua, we made a quick stop in Miami, where I decided to splurge on these Prada sunnies in South Beach. They are the perfect mix of Wayfarer and glam. I’m. In Love.

Let me know if you like the new video format!

Pleasure Doing Business

26 May

While on a bachelorette party in Vegas, I found myself with a few extra hours of “shopping time” before my flight home.  I entered the world of Beckley Boutique inside the Cosmopolitan.  And I can tell you that it was a dangerous adventure for my wallet, but a great stop for wardrobe remodeling – note that no credit cards were harmed in the process of shopping.  Amongst many of the items that I’m still coveting, I stumbled upon this Pleasure Doing Business structured skirt.  I was drooling over this skirt in an episode of Gossip Girl where Serena rocked it!  Nonetheless, it was a MUST have.
For this look, I paired it with a mint blouse and pumps.  But, wedges/flats and a tee/ tank would take the look from night to day.  I have been trying to build a wardrobe of versatility lately and this skirt exemplifies the theme.  I highly recommend adding one to your closet.   It certainly was a Pleasure Doing Business!
Insider tip: I spotted a similar skirt at Antropologie, for much less (click here).
OUTFIT: Pleasure Doing Business Structured Skirt (similar here), Bebe Sheer & Silk Mint Blouse, Carlos Santana Black Suede Lust Pumps, Forever 21 Quilted Gold Chain Crossbody, Express Braided Mesh Necklace, Michael Kors Anchor Link Bracelet, Stella & Dot Eden Bangle, Express Wave Cuff Bracelet, Vintage Gold Bangle (similar here), and Limited Blue, Leather, Diamond & Gold Chain Bracelet (similar here)
