Oxblood

I couldn’t be more excited about the Oxblood Bloggers Do It Better Challenge!  I have always had a secret love affair with the color, oxblood: dark red, with a hint of brown – it is red without the fire, and brown with a touch of sass.  And let me add that, Oxblood was my wedding color.  I’m pumped that it is THE hottest color this fall.

Since this color really captures the essence of fall, which is always associated with back to school, what better shoot location than my alma mater: The University of Texas at Austin campus!

Outfit: H&M oxblood leather jeans (similar here), H&M flannel shirt (similar here), Steve Madden mustard satchel, Mossimo suede wedges, Peacock Plum pendant necklace, and Forever 21 sunglasses.

Makeup: OPI Eiffel For This Color nail polish, Estée Lauder Cyber Gold eyeshadow, Estée Lauder Cyber Copper eyeshadow, Estée Lauder Garnet eyeliner, Estée Lauder Sumptous mascara,  Nars Outlaw blush, and Chanel Rouge Noir lipstick mixed with NYC black eyeliner…it worked like a charm to get the oxblood color that I was looking for!
