In Austintatious, Events, Style
The third, and final, night of the Driskill Runways threw a little menswear in to the mix, with three different menswear collections. Photo fail : Sorry for the beacon of light in the upper right corner, it was shinning right into the camera for my seat that evening. Just consider it your style beacon. 🙂

Runway collections by: Nikki Poulos (Boynton Beach, FL), Jag Saint Joi: Nzimiro Oputa (New York, NY), Parrott by Sarah Parrott (Marietta, GA), Vian Hunter (Seattle, WA), League of Rebels (Dallas, TX), Ken Tyler (Richardson, TX), Ashley Nicole Maternity (San Antonio, TX), and Herff Christiansen (Austin, TX)
My arrival on the red carpet – I wore a Bebe sheer button up blouse, Bebe leather leggings, and Christian Louboutin pumps.
I’m never as excited by menswear collections, since they are more traditional and typically have “been done” before. So, I’m always curious to see what menswear designers are willing to step outside of the normal boundaries. Also, I have to admit that I enjoy the, ahem, eye candy. There were some pretty nice collections by Jag Saint Joi: Nzimiro Oputa, League of Rebels, and Ken Tyler at Austin Fashion Week. Some of my favorite looks from the evening are shown above.
Can someone say fall trends?? The Parrott by Sarah Parrott collection hit the nail on the head. Oxblood? Check. Leather? Check. Peplums? Check. Lace? Check. Mixed greens? Check. Cobalt? Check. I’m slightly obsessed.
My mecca between shows!
This Vian Hunter collection is incredibly diverse – from a very Prada-esque feel to a Lilly Pulitzer twist. She definitely stays on top of all of the current trends, but keeps it classy. I love the modern and stylish, yet feminine collection!
