There is an art to transitioning into fall fashion when you live in the South.
As much as I would like to start wearing ponchos, sweaters, jackets & boots….our weather will stay warm well into the beginning of winter. And so we have the famous southern wardrobe conundrum: cute fall fashion is ready and available in stores, but temperatures are still “summery.”
My advice — listen to the weather and dress appropriately. Keep enjoying the beautiful weather, sunny skies, and summer fashion. Don’t be THAT girl trying so hard to wear cooler weather trends, in the heat. Just wait a few more months to fully transition your wardrobe.
This is one of my fav go-to sunny weekend looks (it is 98 degrees today). I love the effortlessness of shorts and slip on tennis shoes. Little known fact: when wearing shorts, a cool pair of tennis shoes can be WAY more flattering than sandals. Who knew?! And shorts transition into cooler weather with a long sleeve blouse & heels or a slouchy sweater & boots. Adding a great on-trend fringe or tassel embellished bag totally completes the look.
More warm weather, means more sun! And everyone needs a few pairs of chic sunnies. I’ve been trying so many different designer styles with Endless Eyewear, since you can preview virtually. Get excited — they are giving all Style Beacon readers one free month of designer sunglasses (use code: STYLEBEACON). How fun are these ic! Berlin sunnies?
If you’re struggling with fall fashion and the warmer temperatures, just wait. We will be there before you know it, promise. In the meantime, keep on having fun in the sun!
